I want to share this article about, 10 Reasons to Love Alpaca Yarn, because it is pretty good except for 3 things.  

1.  Alpaca is NOT a totally hollow fiber.  It does have some air pockets in some of the fibers.  Hollow fibers in alpaca is not desirable.  They are stiff and make things itchy and hollow fibers do not take dye well.
2.  I don’t think there have been any great scientific studies about alpaca being 7 times warmer than wool.  Do I personally think that alpaca is warmer?  Yes, but I don’t know about 7 times.
3.  Alpaca’s are NOT NOT NOT good guard animals.
